History of Karma Construction
Karma Construction Company was formally started in 1969 by Terry Cullen. But the real start goes back further than that to when Terry started working with his father at about age 10 at the family four-plex.
Karma Construction started as a remodeling company and is still basically a remodeling company today. In the 70's Karma Construction did a lot of work for the Minneapolis housing and redevelopment authority and for HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development). Almost all of this work was whole-house remodels.
In the 80's we did a lot of historical restorations and new use rehabs. We still do a fair amount of historical work including jobs on Summit Avenue in St. Paul. During this time we also started doing some heavy structural work, house moving, and wood foundations. We also found time to build new houses, all architect designed. We've worked with many architects and engineers. Although some contractors don't care to work with architects or engineers, we welcome the opportunity to work with these professionals.
In the 90's and into the new millenium we continue the basic remodeling we started in the 70's, the historical restoration and heavy construction work of the 80's with more emphasis on newer technology like soil nailing, compaction grouting, shotcrete, and synthetic stucco. We have also added an additional classic European design specialist to the team in 2002.
As you can see, it's a pretty eclectic mix but the foundation under all of this is our commitment to customer satisfaction. We really do make sure that our customers are happy with the job before we say we're done.
